Crappie Braid
A 0.06 mm micro-diameter PE braid tuned for crappie and panfish work — dock shooting, tight-lining, spider-rigging, long-lining, vertical jigging and slip floats.
Performance profile
Relative character of this braid vs. standard monofilament — not lab figures.
Rigging notes
- Main-line knot: Palomar — quick and dependable on braid.
- Leader connection: Double Uni or FG, 2–6 ft by clarity and cover.
- Spool with light tension over a short mono backing to prevent slip.
Field notes
- Launches 1/64–1/16 oz offerings with ease off light spinning gear.
- Also earns its keep on bluegill, perch, trout and finesse bass.
- Lighter leaders in ultra-clear water; heavier around docks, brush and shell.
Frequently asked questions
Will bright braid spook crappie?
In many situations visibility improves bite detection without reducing bites. If fish are finicky or the water is ultra-clear, add a 2–6 ft fluorocarbon leader for stealth.
What rod and reel pair best?
Light to ultralight spinning setups — and 6–12 ft single poles for vertical work — shine with micro-diameter braid for superior feel with small jigs and minnows.
Can I use it beyond crappie?
Absolutely — bluegill, perch, trout and finesse bass presentations benefit from the same sensitivity and casting efficiency.
